Blessing Bags Program

“Small Acts of Kindness, Big Difference in Someone’s Day”

Our Blessing Bags Program is a hands-on outreach ministry at St. John’s Polish National Catholic Church that brings practical support and encouragement to our neighbors in need. Held once a month, this volunteer-driven initiative gathers members of our parish and wider community to assemble and distribute “Blessing Bags” filled with helpful and comforting items.

Each bag includes a thoughtful mix of essentials such as:

  • Non-perishable food (protein bars, canned goods, fruit cups, etc.)
  • Bottled water or juice
  • Sweets and snacks
  • Personal hygiene items (toothbrushes, wipes, etc.)
  • Seasonal items (socks, gloves, sunscreen, etc.)
  • A message of hope

Our goal is to provide a moment of relief, dignity, and kindness to those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or financial hardship. We typically distribute between 150 to 200 bags during each event, reaching individuals throughout our local neighborhoods, shelters, and public spaces.

This program has been growing steadily since its launch four years ago, and we are continually amazed by the generosity and compassion of our volunteers and donors. As the need increases, so does our commitment to expanding our reach.

How You Can Help

  • Volunteer to help pack or distribute bags
  • Donate items or funds to keep our supply going
  • Spread the word and invite others to join this mission

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ, bringing comfort to those who feel forgotten
and showing them that they are seen, loved, and valued.
